Dear Clients, Partners, and Friends,
In lieu of cards or gifts during the 2020 Holiday Season, RSP is making a donation to the Greater Chicago Food Depository (GCFD) on behalf of its clients, partners, and friends. As a way of giving back to local communities, RSP annually holds an in-person service day with firm members volunteering at a local charity. Since gatherings are not safe in the current environment, this year we decided that making a donation to the GCFD is the perfect response to help fight food insecurity in our communities, particularly in the midst of the ongoing pandemic.
Food insecurity occurs when a person cannot reliably access adequate, nutritious food due to a lack of financial and other resources, and catastrophic events. Hunger knows no boundaries: it affects children, older adults, people with disabilities, veterans, the working poor, and others.
GCFD and its network of programs provide more than 170,000 meals each day. As part of a united community effort, GCFD acts as the hub for more than 700 food pantries, soup kitchens, shelters, and other programs. They also address the root causes of hunger through public benefits outreach and job training programs.
RSP’s community gift will help provide 15,000 meals for people in need and bring food, dignity, and hope to individuals throughout Cook County. This gift will help make a difference in the lives of our neighbors who face hunger daily. To learn more about the impact, please visit chicagosfoodbank.org.
We appreciate your support during this very challenging year and look forward to days when we can be together again. May the holiday season bring you and your family health, peace, and kindness.
